Sun Bao
Story
Sun Bao has practiced tai chi in the Wudang Mountains for over thirty years. The Wudang tradition is one of the most revered schools of internal martial arts (内家拳), combining Daoist philosophy with combat technique and health cultivation.
His lineage traces back to Zhang Sanfeng, the legendary Daoist hermit said to have created tai chi after observing a fight between a snake and a crane. Sun Bao teaches the 108-form Wudang tai chi sequence, as well as sword forms (剑法) and qigong breathing techniques.
Every morning at dawn, he leads students through forms on the mountain terrace, where clouds flow beneath them like an ink painting come to life. His students include martial arts enthusiasts, health seekers, and spiritual practitioners from around the world. He teaches that true martial arts mastery is not about force, but about harmony — the balance of yin and yang in every movement.
